Fructose found to be beneficial after exercise

5.9.11 The following blurb is from the Week in Review section of the NYTimes (May 8th) "A cluster of new studies suggested that people who work out regularly need not worry about consuming fructose in their diet, indeed the sugar was found to be beneficial in recovery after exhausting exercise... the studies cast a rare positive light on a generally demonized food additive, high fructose corn syrup" Positive light on HFCS? Why did they tie the subject back to HFCS and not just to the naturally occurring fructose in fruit?
